Why it was recalled

Front and rear brake shoes in affected quad bikes (and these parts sold as spare parts) may contain asbestos. The importation of asbestos or goods containing asbestos into Australia has been prohibited under the Customs (Prohibited Imports) Regulations 1956 since 31 December 2003.

Hazard

Available information indicates that these quad bikes so not pose a measurable health risk through normal use. Exposure to asbestos can result in asbestos-related diseases.
