Why it was recalled
These water heaters may have incorrect placement of the fibreglass insulation and its support material.
Hazard
There is a remote possibility of smoke and/or fire damage within the heater cabinet if the insulation comes in contact with the burner. This would normally self-extinguish due to use of fire retardant materials. However, under certain conditions it can lead to a total failure of the water heater.
