The PowerRouter is a solar inverter/charger installed in domestic residences in order to convert and route renewable energy between solar panels, batteries and the electricity grid. Identifying features description The potentially affected PowerRouters are only those: - supplied and installed in Australia between October 2011 and November 2012; - with model numbers PR30S, PR37S, PR50S, PR30SB, PR37SB and PR50SB; and - with a serial number that includes the capital letter B. PowerRouters that do not fit all these 3 criteria are not affected.
Why it was recalled
Affected PowerRouters may experience a failure of an electronic component and this can result in an internal smouldering in the unit.
Hazard
If the defect occurs, the product poses a potential fire hazard.
