Thames and Kosmos Ooze Labs Magnetic Slime

Plastic test tube with purple cap. The test tube contains a magnetic slime powder for making the slime and a magnet that is enclosed in a bird shaped plastic mould that is around 3cm long.

Why it was recalled

The product does not comply with the mandatory safety standard for toys containing magnets, ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 5 of 2010 - Consumer Product Safety Standard for Children's Toys Containing Magnets'. A small magnet is included with the kit.

Hazard

If a child swallows the magnet and another magnetic object there is a risk they may stick together across the child's intestinal wall or other digestive tissue, which can lead to internal injuries or even death. The magnet may also pose a choking hazard to small children (small parts).
