Why it was recalled
The product does not meet the requirements of the mandatory standard 'Consumer Protection Notice No. 12 of 2008, Consumer Product Safety Standard for Vehicle Support Stands'. The product was sold without the instruction manual and an incomplete label. The jack stand's label is missing some of the required information.
Hazard
If the stand is mislabelled, and does not have correct safety information, the occupant may misuse it on a different vehicle or in a way it was not designed for. Misuse may cause jack stand instability or failure. If a consumer is under the vehicle, this may lead to a vehicle collapsing causing severe injury or death.
