This recall notice is issued by the South Australian Minister for Business Services and Consumers pursuant to Section 122 of the Australian Consumer Law (SA). Identifying features description Saekodive buoyancy compensators Cyclone (model #9000) and Hurricane (model #9300) Manufactured in 2005 and 2006, but may have been available for sale up to and including 2008.
Why it was recalled
The plastic seal connecting the inflator/dump valve to the vest can become brittle and detach.
Hazard
The defect poses a drowning hazard if the failure occurs while underwater as the vest may fill with water and act as an anchor.
