Why it was recalled
The bolts that secure the hitch receiver to the tow bar, may have a different thread to the nuts in the tow bar and may loosen. On the Amarok application, the bolts may “bottom out” before fully tightening.
Hazard
If the towbar detaches from the vehicle while towing, this could cause the trailer to separate from the towing vehicle. This could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death.
