Mares XR BCD Buoyancy Compensation Vest Inflator

Published 11 August 2019

Product

A buoyancy compensation vest, also called a BC, BCD or stabiliser, is a piece of diving equipment with an inflatable bladder, which is worn by divers to establish neutral buoyancy underwater and positive buoyancy on the surface, when needed.

Why it was recalled

Due to insufficient torque applied in the manufacturing process, the inflator's deflation button may unscrew.

Hazard

If the inflator's deflator button unscrews, there may be a loss of buoyancy, which poses a drowning hazard for the wearer.
