Why it was recalled
The bicycles do not meet the marking requirements of the mandatory standard 'Consumer Protection Notice No. 6 of 2004 - Consumer Product Safety Standard: Pedal Bicycles: Safety Requirements'. The bicycles were fitted with wheel reflectors that do not have the required markings on them.
Hazard
If the wheel reflectors are not marked correctly, the bicycle may not adequately protect a rider as it is intended. In extreme circumstances this may contribute to an accident and injury to the rider.
