Seat-posts on: (1) Giant brand 2013 model year XtC Advanced SL 29er 0 (blue/white) (2) Giant brand 2013 model year XtC Advanced SL 29er 1 (red/white) After-market seat-posts that are also affected are black with “XTC” and “Giant” marked on the tubes. Identifying features description All bicycles and seat-posts that fit the above description are affected.
Why it was recalled
The seatposts on the affected bicycles and those that were sold after-market can crack and break during use.
Hazard
If the defect occurs, this can result in a loss of control and poses a fall hazard to consumers.
