28 Nov 2024: recall updated to reflect that only bicycles with a V21 Aerostem are affected. The dates the bicycles were available for sale have also changed. Canyon Speedmax CF triathlon bikes with a V21 Aerostem. Affected models: R073 R41 Model years 2016 – 2024.
Why it was recalled
The stem and handlebar may crack, leading to breaking or detachment. This may occur after impacts such as striking a pothole or kerb.
Hazard
There is a risk of injury from a fall if the stem and handlebar break or detach while the bike is being ridden. This defect has occurred.
