The Beats Pill XL is an audio speaker which has a "b" Beats logo on the front and it is available in five colours: black, white, metallic sky, pink and titanium. The Beats Pill XL Speaker was supplied in Australia beginning in January 2014 by Beats by Dr. Dre, Apple, and other retailers. No other Apple or Beats product is affected by this issue. Identifying features description Model Number B0514 All Beats by Dr Dre Pill XL portable Speakers are potentially affected and subject to this corrective action.
Why it was recalled
Apple has determined that, in rare cases, the battery in the Beats Pill XL portable speaker may overheat.
Hazard
If the defect occurs, this poses a fire safety risk which may result in minor injury or property damage.
