Why it was recalled
A manufacturing defect has resulted in the through holes on the Power Circuit Board becoming compromised and “open” over time due to a lack of proper thickness in the copper insulation in the walls of the through holes.
Hazard
Due to this lack of thickness in the copper walls, current will increase on the Power Circuit Board possibly creating an abnormal hot spot, which could lead to overheating or smoking, presenting a potential fire hazard.
